Understanding Gluten & The Effects Of Grain Based Diets

In my practice, I take a close look at my patients dietary habits and get to see first hand the ill effects that certain foods and substances can have on the body.  One of the primary “offenders” to the health of many people are grains, particularly those containing a protein called gluten. Grains that include this protein are wheat (all forms such as semolina, durum, etc.), rye, spelt, kamut, barley, and most types of oats.

Benefits Of Bone Broth

Simply put, bone broth is homemade stock made from animal bones such as fish heads or oxtails. You can use whole turkey or fish carcasses or parts of lamb, pig, venison – or any other animal of your choosing. The point is to simmer the bones (typically from one animal) in water for hours or days. The longer you cook it, the more nutritious it gets and the better the product breaks down and pulls out all the nutrients.
